Arshak Andriasov - 16 Themes in 16 Measures for Clarinet, Op. 16
Arshak Andriasov wrote a piece named 16 Themes in 16 Measure for Clarinet, Op. 16. The World Premiere of four out of the sixteen compositions took place in San Francisco, CA by Lawrence London.
Arshak always wanted to write compositions for solo instruments without accompaniment. He started this idea for Pian, then moved to Flutists and Piccolo performers. With this composition, Mr. Andriasov tackled the Clarinet instrument. Understanding the complex and vibrant possibilities for Clarinet, he needed to create an idea that would be interesting to start this project. Due to the fact that the year was 2016, he thought of writing 16 themes in 16 measures.
Arshak Andriasov said that “I really liked composing this piece due to the fact that there are so many moods in a person and the clarinet can definitely depict them and more. This is why I chose the Clarinet for such a special occasion.”
